Working with Lifestyle Social Media Clients: Unveiling the Reasons Behind My Niche

As a social media manager, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across various industries. However, there’s something uniquely rewarding about collaborating with clients in the lifestyle space. From fashion and travel to wellness and home decor, the lifestyle industry offers endless opportunities for creativity, inspiration, and connection. In this blog post, I will share why I love working with social media clients in the lifestyle space and the unique advantages I bring to the role.

1. My Past Endeavors in the Lifestyle Space

My past jobs include working as a full-time makeup artist as well as being a fashion influencer, so the lifestyle space is no stranger to me. I have always loved creating concepts for photoshoots, drafting social media campaigns, and maintaining an overall aesthetic that brings me joy. When I began taking social media clients in 2018, my first several clients were a hair salon (still with me to this day), a Dog Clothes company, and a real estate agent. With all of those clients being in the lifestyle space, I fell in love with Lifestyle Marketing.

It also helps that I have had a strong network of photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, and creative business owners as my closest friends, acquaintances, and even family members. My life is kind of engulfed in that world whether I want it or not. (I do. I definitely do.)

2. Creative Freedom and Visual Appeal in the Lifestyle World

One of the most exciting aspects of working with lifestyle clients is the creative freedom it offers. The lifestyle space is inherently visual, allowing me to explore and experiment with captivating imagery, aesthetically pleasing compositions, and engaging storytelling techniques. Whether it’s curating eye-catching flat lays, capturing breathtaking travel photos, or showcasing beautifully styled interiors, the lifestyle industry provides an abundance of visually appealing content that fuels my creativity. I especially love prepping for photoshoots and content days, coffee in hand while piecing together mood boards on Pinterest and content banks in Notion.

In my spare time, you can even find that my personal hobbies include reading, journaling, creating Pinterest Shuffles (thanks Catie and Crystal), and taking lifestyle photo and video of my own.

3. Inspiration and Aspirational Lifestyle Content

Working with lifestyle clients allows me to immerse myself in aspirational content that resonates with audiences. Lifestyle brands often focus on inspiring and empowering their followers, offering a glimpse into a desired lifestyle or capturing moments of joy, beauty, and self-expression. This focus on inspiration provides a unique opportunity to create content that evokes emotions, encourages exploration, and sparks the imagination of the target audience. I know how to do that firsthand, being an ex-influencer. Creating content that brings value to others is a personal and special thing.

4. Building Lifestyle Communities and Authentic Connections

The lifestyle space is known for fostering vibrant and passionate communities. Whether it’s fashion enthusiasts, travel lovers, or wellness seekers, lifestyle clients attract individuals who share common interests and values. As a social media manager, I get to facilitate the growth and engagement of these communities, fostering authentic connections between the brand and its followers. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the impact of these connections and see how they cultivate a sense of belonging and loyalty among the audience.

It’s like the feeling you get when you open Threads and see that you’re not the only one that is interested in a certain thing. Movies, TV shows, books, restaurants, certain sexy celebrities…

5. Collaboration and Influencer Partnerships

The lifestyle industry is ripe with opportunities for collaboration and influencer partnerships. Working with lifestyle clients often involves engaging with influencers and content creators who have a genuine passion for the niche. Collaborating with influencers brings a fresh perspective, expands reach, and allows for creative cross-promotion. These partnerships provide exciting opportunities to tap into the influencer’s audience, leverage their expertise, and co-create content that resonates deeply with the target market.

Sidebar: I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know many influencers in my time, most of them being very genuine and down-to-earth people, but that’s a story for another day.

6. Making a Positive Impact

Many lifestyle brands prioritize social responsibility, aiming to make a positive impact on the world. Working with such clients allows me to align my skills and passion for social media with brands that share the same values. It’s fulfilling to contribute to campaigns and initiatives that promote sustainability, inclusivity, wellness, and ethical practices. If you know me, you know how much this means to me. This alignment creates a sense of purpose and satisfaction in my work, knowing that I am part of something greater than just managing social media accounts.

Working with social media clients in the lifestyle space brings a unique set of advantages that fuel my passion as a social media manager. From the creative freedom and visual appeal to the inspiration, community building, collaboration, and opportunities for positive impact, the lifestyle industry offers a dynamic and rewarding environment. It’s a joy to connect with clients and their audiences, helping them build a strong online presence that inspires, engages, and leaves a lasting impression.
